Install FiveM
Launch GTA V once through its own launcher, then install FiveM from fivem.net. Ten minutes, one download, one Cfx.re account.

Not a formality. Step two of the application asks you to explain the rules in your own words, and most rejections come from this.

Most decisions land within a couple of days. You are notified on Discord and on your account page the moment there is one.
What you need.
A legitimate copy of GTA V, about 20GB free, and a working microphone — voice carries most of what happens here, and a muted player is one nobody can roleplay with. If GTA Online already runs fine for you, FiveM will too, though 16GB of RAM and an SSD are the real floor.

My application's been sitting a while — what's actually happening to it?
It is queued behind whoever submitted before you and read properly, not skimmed. Most clear within 48 hours; a reopening rush can push that to five days. The moment someone decides, you get pinged on Discord and it shows on your dashboard — there is no separate place to check.
Got denied. Is that it?
No — you get the actual reason, not a form rejection, and can reapply after seven days. Answers that were copied, obviously AI-written, or left blank push that cooldown out further, because the point of the wait is to make you try again properly.
Can I get away with playing on text chat only?
Not really. Voice carries most of what happens in the city, and a muted player is a player nobody can roleplay with. If you're not on voice, expect scenes to move on without you.
If I spend money in the store, does it change how the server treats me?
No. Priority queue, cosmetics and supporter perks are the entire catalogue. Nobody outspends the whitelist, the economy, or a punishment — the store funds hosting, it does not buy standing.
What kind of machine does this actually need?
If GTA Online already runs fine for you, FiveM will too. 16GB RAM and an SSD are the real floor — a heavily customised server leans on memory and disk far harder than base GTA does.
Are streamers and content creators welcome, or just tolerated?
Welcome, properly — we build storylines with an audience in mind. The one rule: your character cannot use anything from your own stream chat as in-character knowledge, and anyone who asks not to be filmed gets that respected without argument.
